Cross Drilled and Slotted Rotors

Keep in mind that if all you do is replace stock rotors with slotted and/or drilled rotors of the same diameter rotor as stock, your braking performance will actually decrease. This is due to the decrease in rotor surface area that the brake pad contacts. Drilling and/or slotting can also sacrifice the structural strength/integrity of the rotor itself, making it more susceptible to cracking and breaking.
The only time slotted and/or drilled rotors alone make a difference is when the outside diameter of the rotor is increased to compensate for the loss in surface area . You can also increase braking performance by changing calipers to increase the number of pistons, and/or replacing stock brake lines with stainless steel lines.
Simply changing rotors to slotted and/or drilled rotors should be considered a cosmetic upgrade. Anyone making this modification expecting a performance increase will be greatly disappointed.
