Default couple problems

alright, well since moving up here to the north, my trucks been throwing p0172 and 174 codes off and on, and for the past few years it would stick in gear everyonce in a while until I let off the gas then it would shift. with a stock transmission @ 144k I couldnt complain. well I changed out the fuel pump, filter, new plugs wires and maf because I got a good deal on one. all that stuff needed to be done anyways but the codes are still here. Ive sprayed carb cleaner around the intake and nothing ever happened, I just recently maybe 800 or so miles ago put in a new flt transmission. well the codes come back here and there and then go away, but the past week everyonce and a while the trans will stick in gear until I let off. needless to say I am not a happy camper, I have reflashed the pcm and that didnt change anything. I took it to the stealership and they didnt hook it up but I spoke to one of the techs and he said if its lean (no present codes) then the computer might be trying to search for when to shift and that could be causing it. he recommended getting a new intake manifold and that should solve it. also sometimes at stop lights it will kind of surge a little bit, go from 500rpms to like 300 and then back up after a second. WTF

I am starting to get frustrated so I bought a newer intake manifold, getting gaskets and having that done since I cant do it from my surgery. does this sound like its the problem or what the hell is going on. I dont want anything to hurt my new trans so Im trying to get this done asap since Im laid up and not driving anyways. sorry for the long post-Mike
