And if you had problems, they need to be addressed and the people involved should speak up about it. Nobody wants to be scammed on here, so if it's happening then it needs to get fixed.

...because this obviously needs to be brought to the attention of both nlawson6.0 and FLT because their product name/reputation is on the line. If you hadn't posted any information about who it was, it probably would've been bumped back a few pages with no interest until someone else posted it instead of me.
Rep is on the line when u name people & builder's in any thread. True on being bumped, but it has people's attn now.

I couldn't agree more w/. mostly all of what Scott said & these quotes.
A few things. You've had this since Turkey day & so it sat a few months u said.
You're just now bringing this up? How long did u drive on it? And he (who u got it from) drove on it some.

Guts were torn apart w/o you being there. If it wasn't done in front of you, how does a person really know? As some have said & it's true. Lot of variables here.

Thumbs down

Ok I guess it's time to chime in here! Just reading this now and I'm speechless. As most of you know I do all of the automatic transmissions here at FLT and I believe I have a very good rep as a builder. Not only for my work but also for my knowledge.

With that being said, I can count on 1 hand the amount of stock units with just a shift kit I have done in the last 5 years. None of which would be stamped with my initials, level and a date code. Certainly not a level 4 with a stock sunshell. We do not operate like that!

Not sure if the unit had been gone through after it supposedly left FLT or if it even is a FLT at this point. Also I have no way of telling now that another shop has been in it and if our parts were removed. God only knows what has happened here to be perfectly honest. I am extremely sorry to read this thread and I hope things work out for you. It pains me to see people get screwed and that is the last thing I will do while working at FLT. Trust me when I say this. Vince

Spoken like a true professional. Vince does great work. I've seen the internals after years of hard (ab)use and if this was one of his products the story may be different. I know things break, I broke one or two of theirs myself. The fact remains you need to get to the bottom of the issue with the seller or your local trans guy. I hate to see stuff like this happen and leave bad tastes.

I, and many others on this board will stand by Vince and Chuck because FLT as a whole has been a staple to this community, so their word is enough for me honestly. However the fact remains that BulldogSS has bought a lemon of a tranny.
My one piece of experience that's come to mind is back when I first started modding my truck I would outsource the labor and after being fucked over by 3-4 shops I started doing my own installs and what not. If Nlawson doesn't do his own work and a speed shop did his installs and whatever then they also might be looked at in this situation.

People to suspect IMO are:
Nlawson6.0
Any speed shops that he has been too and left his truck at overnight
And BulldogSS's tranny Specialist.

Also if Nlawson6.0 sold you the tranny without mentioning the clutch packs being done for that's an automatic flag in my book, if your dishonest about one thing who knows what else your hiding.

Also let's not forget David aka Zzebes. He was a pretty prominent member on here until he started ******* everybody over, so does anyone even know NLawson6.0 personally?

haha you cant start a thread like this and expect people to not figure it out. and for what it's worth, ive been around the scene for about 6 years and FLT has maintained a rock solid reputation in the truck and car scene. i would be shocked to find out that the blame fell on vince and his crew.

Even though I haven’t looked inside my Level V to see what’s inside (haven’t need to) and I can’t guarantee the parts listed are actually what’s in it, but after 4 years and 50k miles of pretty good abuse without a single issue, I can sleep well at night knowing I spent my money well. The bottom line is Vince and the gang at FLT didn’t build a solid reputation from sending junk out the door plain and simple.

And yes, anything can break.

Yep, I've damaged one or two of their units and they were always quick to fix the issue no questions asked. Its a piece of machinery, anything can and break. A trans is a wear item IMO, just like brakes, it'll need replacing or rebuilding eventually no matter who builds it.

There is no mention of the seller's comments. If the clutches were slipping on install I would have questioned the seller first.

And if this was the case, should the person who purchased the Yank converter that was mated to this trans be concerned?
