As for taking it easy on the converter... you know DAMN WELL that's gonna be hard as HELL!!!!
I'm stuck driving my V6 Accord, and haven't driven the snot outta my truck in nearly two months. Break-in time? How long (or miles) did Dave tell ya to take it gentle?

I believe the 500 miles is considering hwy miles too where it stays locked... I was actually told not to leave it locked for too long before its broken in good. something about etching the clutch disk... I just ranmine easy for about a week, changed the fluid and gave it hell!!

I say take it out for a drive. Let it lock up and all that good stuff.
Tap the brakes so it will unlock and then relock. I did this about 10 times to get 10 lock up outta the way....
But really just watch the temps let her lock up a nice amount of times then start giving her some more and more and she will be good to go.
For what it's worth on my TT2600 i didn't break it in at all. Put it in and drove out. It locked up one time then i made a right....upon half the right hand turn i nailed it and it never gave me any trouble.

silver... i thought about driving it to/from work on the interstate, and doing just what TouchofEvil stated (beat me to it). Since it's a 50 mile drive (one way) for me, I'd be tapping the brake every few miles.
A week of that should do just fine. Unfortunately, I'm in the habit of testing my rebuilds in my truck for a couple of weeks in-town. It'll be a little longer, but better safe than sorry.
BTW... trans is almost done. scraped my hands quite a few times, so the 2-4 band & pump will be installed sometime Sunday evening.

i thought you just needed the 50 lockups? You gotta do the 50 and 500 miles?
i never did ethier on my tt2600 and that thing held it's stall point like a champ.
The PT3200 i have now i got used so it was already broke in for me.

I think you know my luck with the crappy PTC converters...... I've broken some stuff with the yank in mine and we just flushed it out the cheap way and never had a problem with it.. even towed a lot with it..
now I have the 80E in there with the stock converter and its almost the same as the TT3000 just a slight bit tighter....
Yank FTW!!!
