how much load can the factory 60e converter hold in lockup?

The converter clutch is rated by engine size and use in the orginal application.

the clutch in the Trailblazer unit is rated for use of 325 ft lbs and the 6.0 converter is rated higher about 380 ft lbs on the clutch damper assy.
this clutch lining is a material called carbon ceramic weave that is designed to slip and will not 100% lock up but the damper assy. will bottom out at the designed torque input

oh... ic. So if i were to get my tc to lock up and then hit WOT, the dampener would bottom out and the clutch will slip/burn up?

No.
Depending on your speed/gear and tune, the converter unlock at partial throttle to prevent engine lugging.

so it could handle 475 lbs/ft of torque locked up?
