Default converter/fluid question

Quick question, my truck is at 44k miles. The converter should be going in this week and the vette servo. I know at 50k i need to change the fluid but is it ok for the converter to run on the fluid in there now? or with a new converter should i be running new fluid? I was hoping to just wait til 50k to change the fluid and filter. I know the old converter will prob have 2qts in it so i'll have to add some but want to make sure its ok to run the new converter with the fluid thats already in there.

I would say your fine man....
Actually its probably a good idea as the new converter will surely have assembly lube and stuff in there that you don't want contaminating your new fluid anyway. Not sure what kind of materials will slough off during break in...or even if there is a break in period on a converter. But 6K shouldn't hurt it...It is meant for **** and abuse....not like the stocker.
