Default Clutch Options NV3500

So I have a 4.3 with an NV3500 behind it in my 2004 RCSB. My stock clutch just started slipping with 126k on it.

I am thinking of getting something stronger since I am replacing it anyway. I know, I know, it is a 4.3. But it has a centrifugal on it, and I want some headroom for later down the road when I go with a better blower.

I know just about everyone just puts in a V8 because they make way better power, but I enjoy having enough room to sit in my engine bay as I work on it.

Anyways long story short, I see Clutchmaster and Spec both make stronger clutches for the NV3500. Anyone have experience with their products in our trucks? I have heard many mixed things about Spec in particular. Or should a replacement stocker be up to snuff? That would definitely be the cheapest option, but I don't want to regret it down the line.

Thanks!

I had a centerforce dual friction clutch in my nv3500 and it was amazing. Never slipped once and would bite hard if you floored it and dumped the clutch. I put 8,000 miles on it. I will sell it to you if your interested I'm putting a auto in the truck now. I will also sell the the nv3500 rebuilt trans with better synchros and stronger shift fork, 2-3 shift that is always a problem for these trans has never been a issue since rebuild it has about 15k on it. Pm me if your interested in any of it

Thanks for the heads up on the centerforce, I had looked at them initially but their website hadn't listed my 04 as an application. Going back and looking at the specs they do have one like you say, their website just set the cutoff year as 03 instead of 07 classic for some reason on their "by vehicle" finder.

I'm always wary on using used wear items, so I'm going to go new on the clutch, but thanks for the offer. I don't really have money in the budget for an extra trans right now (I was actually supposed to be using the clutch money on getting my other car tuned) but if mine starts giving me issues I'll be sure to PM you. I had always wondered if anyone made better internals for them, that is good to know, my biggest complaint with the NV is the high RPM 2-3 shift.

Yeah the clutch from the 95 and up nv3500 will fit on a 99-06 fly wheel, it's actually a little larger diameter wich I would think would bite a little better. My nv3500 is the only one that I have ever seen that shifted really well and it was behind a supercharged vortec 350.
