Default Clutch Options

Hey Guys,
I've been lurking for a long time but finally asking a question here. Not sure if this is the right forum but its time to order a Clutch for my forced induction build...

Here is my combo and please tell me what ya'll would recommend for a clutch...
-6000lb. GMC truck 4x4 with 38" tires
-6.0L LQ4, Heads & Cam, Magnacharger MP112, headers, CAI, & custom tune
-NV4500 transmission (with +.400 thicker conversion flywheel & old style SBC/BBC clutch, not LSX style clutch)

Need a clutch that will handle ~600+HP.
This truck will mainly be a Daily Driver, & also used as a tow rig, towing around a 7000-8000 lb trailer 6-8 times a year.
Some crawling off road and of course some drag racing too. (yes I just want it all.)

I'm leaning towards a McLeod RXT dual disk, will this clutch be up to the task?
(My research is telling me to go with the RXT over the RST.)
I've read somewhere that these clutches aren't recommended for heavy towing? (I'm at close to 15,000 combined lbs. towing)
My other thoughts were to call monster clutch, and or valair or south bend and see what they could build for me for a High Performance gasser engine.

I've got a centerforce dual friction in another rig with 100-200 less HP and I can get that clutch to slip with a healthy launch, so that doesn't seem to be an option for this application.

What do you guys recommend?
Is the McLeod RXT ok for towing occasionally?
Much Thanks!

RXT should get the job done more than fine. Your best bet is to give the vendors a call and make sure.

Moved your thread...

The RXT should handle it... I'd probably give South Bend a call to see what they could so for you as we'll.

Is this the Advanced Adapter bellhousing / swap kit?

I don't think the McLeod would work anyway with your combo. I wouldn't suggest a RST/RXT if you have an NV4500, there are so many proven clutch combos out there from the diesel world.

Give valair or south bend a call and see what they can do for you. I'm thinking they can do a different hub on the clutch discs to match your input shaft setup. You may have to take some measurements for them.
Last year I did a valair DD in my old cummins tow rig and it waaaaaay more beefy than the McLeod twin I put in my SSS...

Definitely a car vs. truck comparision. Don't skimp out. Go with a dual disc no matter what the salesmen says even if their single falls within your goals.
