Question Close Ratio Gearing for a 4L60E

Does anyone know how installing close ratio gears in a 4L60E could effect drag strip times? I'm thinking that it would have to help because there would be less rpm drop between shifts and the power band would be flatter.

What do you guys think?

I have been thinking about putting the rear planet out of a th350 in for a while. It would raise the first gear and close the gap between first and second. The rear planet would be stronger that way too. You would have to reprogram the ecm so it would not set ratio codes.

doesn't a higher stall converter do that?

As far as I know there is no different gearing presently available for the 60e and while the th350 gear looks similar the design is such it will not swap in ,

The 4l60 carrier fits in a th350 why won't a 350 fit in a 60?

What other options would I have without messing up the ECM controls?

just get a higher stall converter. will have less rpm drop on gear changes.

Well crap I think you're right. The 4l60 carrier has an extra set of splines.
