Flip a coin, you're going to get guys on either side of the fence on this one. I personally have a Circle-D converter.

Both are quality parts.

exactly. All you will get here is subjective opinion. Call both. Get the best deal you can and buy it.

I'd say both are about the same as far as quality goes. If you want lockup at WOT, better go with Circle D though. Yank doesn't believe in WOT lockup lol.

It not that Yank doesn't believe in it, it's that from his experience running unlocked is safer on parts and faster. I run my converter unlocked WOT and I do just fine with a Yank

Its not so much of a worry on lower stall converters...but when you have an engine with a high stall converter turning 7000 rpms and lockup drops that by 1.5-2k, that's where the potential to damage things comes from.
I don't doubt that you do fine with your Yank, numbers are what prove it

so thats why they dont believe in lock up- . . im running a 4400 and lock up actually slows me down- im going to try it unlocked..... see how it performs..

It depends on your setup, but yes...if your converter locks up and it drops you clear out of your powerband, it is definitely going to slow you down.
