Circle D - Multi Disk
#1
Wanted to make a post to show some pictures of the internals of the Circle D Multi disk. These pictures are of the 4L80 version, but I also make them in a 4L60 and the new 6L80. These are made in house in our CNC equipment. Enjoy and please ask any questions you might have.

This is the engine side of the billet front. It is made from a solid piece of steel, no welding on pads or rings to convert a OE converter. Circle D converters are built to last. This is a 6 lug 4L80 version. I can also make a hybrid that will bolt to a LS 4L60 and fit a 4L80 trans.

This is the opposite side of the billet front. Where the multi disk clutch pack resides. The teeth are what we make so it can take a clutch pack. This is made to take some serious abuse. We designed the lug to be extremely rigid, no chance of breaking it off - ever!

This is an image showing the clutch pack, we laser cut the steels for a tight fit. We also use a square tab design to prevent rattle. This is a high carbon clutch material and we get 100 square inches of it. "We dare you to break it"

This is a picture of the billet apply piston installed in the front. This is what will squeeze the clutches together, giving you a WOT lock up capability. I spend some extra CNC mill time here as well. The piston has spokes in it for strength and light weight.
Hope you enjoyed looking and thanks!

I've pretty much made up my mind that I'm going with CircleD when I get the cash...I won't need a triple disc for my application, but I love the "dare you to break it" slogan
Hopefully I'll be giving you a call before summer's over Chris

Say you wouldn't be willing to take the highly sought after diesel truck insanely low stall converter in on trade would you
Wish I had a spare 1100 laying around. Looks like the cats meow when it comes to converters.

Bought a Circle D about two months ago with only one race to try out so far.
I'm impressed with performance so far at the track (i have not tried to lock up yet in 3rd). I had 4 60' times the same to the thousandth 1.602. I really like the street manners of this converter. Awesome piece!!!!
