Default can someone tell me what this does?

transmission crossmember offered by belltech. is it only for driveline angle correction? I sometimes drag my crossmember, this isn't a low profile unit, is it? click on the enlarge photo button, and you'll see a pic of it

That cross member is flush with the bottom of the truck and does not hang down.

It says its a tranny crossmember in the additional informartion, but the description at the top says is a bed c-notch crossmember which I think it actually is. All that does is notch the crossmember in the bed right above the rearend for a little more clearence.

see, now that's what i origninally deduced as well, but then i read the description, and looking at the part....... a tranmission crossmember seems feasible too...

There aren't any holes in the middle for the tranny to bolt to. I know some make the low profile crossmembers, but I can't think of the companies off hand.

edit: I was reading on another forum people were getting them from KP components, but when I went on their website I didn't see them. Some people also suggested just sectioning the stock one.

That looks like the bed c-notch for rear axle clearance to me. I know Belltech makes one but I don't think that they make a tranny cross member. I think that IF Customs makes a tranny cross member for the new body style GM trucks, but I don't know of anyone else that does.

I have heard that IF Customs and KP Components both make them. I remember reading most prefered the KP to the IF for some reason, unfortunatly it has slipped my mind, but many have used the IF one with no problems.
