Default Can i make it work?

A buddy of mine worked on this z71 Tahoe at work and they put a new rear end in it. Well the posi unit in the tahoe was still good. Will it work in my truck? They are both 10 bolt rear ends... if not whats going to be the difference. Im going to put my gears on it and new bearings. Just wanted to see if its going to work or not. Thanks

it will work and it will be a decent upgrade for free... but ideally, get yourself an aftermarket LSD unit...

Free=4 me As long as the mileage isn't really high and no metal in the old carrier just keep it simple. Reuse the bearings, loctite the ring gear bolts and pop it in there. It's really nice to be able to buy the nice stuff but you gotta start somewhere.
