Can buying cool stuff make me cool?

It is a billet 310mm 1600 rpm stall speed, I guess from a diesel. I called and asked for a lower than stock stall speed. They don't offer multi-plate clutches for this size converter, too bad. But the salesman (Brian? Sorry if I'm wrong) said that the clutch has some special friction material to make it much better than stock.

I slipped the lockup clutch in my stock one pretty bad a couple of times, so I figured I would upgrade. I will feel confident that a ballooning converter won't cause engine damage, and this converter should extend my power range by not wasting all of the power that is available below the rpm that the stock converter stalled at.
I wonder if it will be easier to launch by reducing wheel spin?
