Default Cal-tracs and drop hangers...

So what's it take to make it work? I found bluecanjuns' thread when he had it like this but the angle on the bars looked too extreme to be right...I know it worked well for him, but he still eventually changed it up.

With the drop hangers, what would it take to get the bar more parallel to the ground...short of doing a flip kit. Surely someone has done this and can give me some insight. Thanks

a flip kit is the only way i know of.
with the drop hangers, it puts greater angle on the bars than with the stock ones since it is being relocated higher up on the frame.
if your striving to get lower in the rear, txsilverado at one time ran 3" drop shackles. you can also remove the overload spring for more drop and they work great like that with the caltracs.

I run drop shackles and hangers with caltracs, and the angle was off, but i took out the overload, and it closer to level. it works, but is very stiff. i needsome softer shocks in the rear.

i pretty much did the same thing as FASTRT havent had the truck up to the track but it hooks damn good on the street with the M/Ts

If you're building a set, you can build the front brackets to drop farther in the front making the bars more parallel to the ground. But if you're using calverts version, the flip kit is the best way, but they do work well as Lance said with the removed overloads.

On my dakota i have 2" blocks in the rear and had to remove the helper spring to get them on. The angle opn them isnt to bad. I have no problems with them at all, and have found that they helped my 60ft times to be very consistant. They make my truck launch a whole lot better.

i have the set that dirt track racer made a long time ago. They work awesome as is, but this winter we're gonna put some hangers on it and I'm trying to figure out what to do with the bars
