Do you have a big vice or access to a press? They WILL go in. They are designed to be a very tight fit.

 

No, I am emberassed. I thought I could get them in with a giant c-clamp. Wrong!!!! I guess you live and learn. I am taking them to a shop tomorrow to have them pressed in. Of course, my ego is a little bruised but i am sure we all have screwed up more than we are willing to admit.

I got everything out of there just fine (a whole lot of banging) but I just couldn't get anything back in. I think it is well worth the money to have them pressed in. I know when I am beat.

 

a 50-ton hydraulic press is the **** for them bushings.

 

Yeah. All I had was a $9.99 c-clamp!!!

I just got my leafsprings back today. turns out the bushings were about 1/4 inch too large. They had to be shaved down before install. of course with my bad luck they gave the bushings to the machinist but didn't give him a deadline so they sat there for two days and i showed up two days in a row leaving empty handed. I guess saturday I will finish up. My poor truck has been on jacks all week with the *** end out of it gas tank dropped and I have been borrowinging a friends grocery getter all week so my truck should feel extra fast when I get it back together. Anyhow, next month gonna get the flt level 5 and the yank sc3000 and since I am gonna re-tune for the shift kit I am gonna go ahead and pulley down to 8 lbs boost, then I am off to the track.

 

got everything in and feels good. Too hard to tell as I still have a LOT of wheelspin. I know I will feel it with some slicks.....................and I need some good street tires too. Thanks for all of the input guy's.
