C notch frame sag- how to correct the problem

Default C notch frame sag- how to correct the problem

I recently bought a 2000 Silverado SWB with a 6.0 conversion. The truck was bought lowered. I took the truck to a local body shop to get the paint touched up and the guy at the shop noticed that the rear of bed was sitting lower than the front. The cab to bed gap was bigger at the top. The truck has not been in any accidents, so it is believed that the c-notch was put in either with no support or with a lot of weight over the rear. It is the bolt in type c notch. Any ideas on how to straighten out the rear frame rails.

You could take the easy way out and add washers between the rear bed mounts and frame to level it out.

What about the bumper? Will shimming the bed leave the bumper with an odd gap?

yes it will, the bumper is on the frame. Depends how bad the sag is?

take off the bed and lay a straight edge across the frame. if it's bad, unbolt the notch, correct the frame and weld the notch back in. got a side shot picture of the truck?

This^^! Shimming the bed is not a fix it's a band aid.
