Busted bags - Limiting Straps or shorter shocks
#1
Days after having truck in shop for tire rotation and suspension check (bad ball joint) I noticed one of the air bags was torn. While I’m not certain it occurred when they had it, the bags did have had some air in them prior and… I forgot to mention it.
Have a new set on order but curious what you guys recommend to keep that from happening again. (besides remembering to mention it to shop before lifting) I've thought of two options.
Use limiting straps just short of the limit of where the bags are looking stretched to the max. I’ll use old bags to determine how long the strap / bracket would need to be.
Or run a shorter shock since i'm running with drop shackles and block removed to stop travel prior to the weight of the rear end from hanging on the the bags.
Thoughts?
