Built TH350
#1
Ok so i am about to be pushing around 400-450+ with my new combo in my truck which has a 355 to a TH350, what should i be looking at as far as a bulletproof trans? Im a trans noob but i plan to do it all myself.

I had a 450hp 350 with a built TH350, but that was in a light 71 Camaro...If I were building it in a truck I'd probably do a TH400 for the insurance, but you should be able to get a built TH350 that will hold up fine, as long as it's properly built. I've been out of the 3 speed scene for a while, so unfortunately I can't recommend a trans builder to you who could answer your questions and build you a stout trans. Might want to PM someone from FLT...I know that they're 4 speed guys, but I'm sure that they could shed some insight and give you some good suggestions

i had a mild build th350 in my 96. it was around 500 at the wheels and never had a problem. 4200lbs. clutchs/ hd sprags/ extra pack in first/ manual valve bodie/ all parts where mic'd to make sure they were in spec and any part was replaced.
