What do I need to do with my convertor? My tranny fluid was really metallic and I don't want that stuff getting back into my tranny when I get it back.

Shoulda got an FLT 65/70E.... Their reputatin precedes them...

"Rated" hp is just numbers.

I'm a firm believer that they are better built products, and not just because that's what I own

You don't need to buy any kit, the info is out there. I wish I would have done the swap instead of dumping all that money in the 60. I like the 80 much better.

And soon to be even stronger! We have a few new things in the works for you guys that may not want to do the 80 swap depending on your hp. We are hoping to be able to release the new trans after the first of the year. I believe it will be the strongest 4l6x on the market.

2ktransam it sounds like you broke a shaft or a planet in your trans if I had to guess. Please post up what broke when you find out. Vince

That means that it'll already have been out a while when I have the cash for my trans...sweet. I better get to doing some side jobs pronto!

Crappy deal dude. I know what it's like to break an expensive transmission. Benchpressing a broken, expensive mess while it leaks an ocean of ATF on your garage floor doesn't make it any more fun either.

Granted you don't have to buy a kit that makes it more expensive but you guys make it sound like it so easy to do. I also have a hard time believing that a stock 80E with a shift kit will hold up in my truck but I could be wrong.

I don't want to slam Performabuilt yet because their customer service has been great so far. I am hoping that since they are a sponsor they will make this right and if the 60E can be built stronger they will do it this time. Hopefully they will learn something from my problem and fix it if possible. Only time will tell. The one good thing is I get a new warrenty when they fix it.
