I have 27k miles on my 2006 Sierra and for the second time, I have a horrible pulsation in the front brakes. At 14k, I had them turn the rotors (under warranty after I bitched and bitched....) and now it's at it again. At 14k, it still had the stock steel wheels on it, so it's not the JGP 20's doing it (I'm sure they're not helping). Has anyone else had this problem? I know I drive like a maniac, but I've never gotten less than 12k out of rotors on anything- f-bodies, S10s, OBS fullsizes, anything. What has everyone done if they have experienced this?

well turning them is not going to make things better if there is a problem with the braking system or your driving it will only make them worse sounds like the metal that those rotors was made from was not good quality I would demand them to be replaced

Is this at all speeds? or is it only at higher speeds like getting off the highway? I have that issue, and it makes a wierd noise when on the breaks.. Mine is also an 06. I duno, really makes me wonder, I cant find that noise at all in mine, and then that shake, Im wondering if I too got bad rotors?

No, it's not noisy. It's definitely warped rotors (I'm used to 25-30k on cars before this happens, I drive in Atlanta traffic like a bat outa hell) I just can't believe it happens so quick. It's at all speeds, it's more noticeable at high speeds, but it happens all the time. The truck stops fine and straight and everything, it just pulsates like hell. Taking it to the dealer is a whole-nother issue, don't get me started on that... I'm going to try another one tomorrow for another issue I'm having. I'd almost rather just spend the money to have it done than to deal with the dealership.

I've had bad luck with the factory rotors myself...not pulsating but rusting to hell. I had one set of rotors (front and rear) replaced under warranty around 17k because they were so rusted that they were flaking apart like a croissant, and I replaced them myself again about 20K later for the same problem. I went with PraiseDyno gear front and rear and have been happy ever since.
If you do have the dealer do the work, insist that they replace the rotors instead of resurfacing them. Each time you cut em, they get thinner and dissapate less heat, and if a rotor has a problem like a hardened spot, the pulsation will just return again.
BTW: Nice wheels
