Default boxing rear trailing arms

i was thinking of boxing my stock rear trailing arms on my tahoe. so how effective is this in the suspension world. is it worth anything. i know hotchkis sells a set of them already boxed but i figured it would be cheaper to just box my own. but is it worth having or doing?
