Default Bowtie Overdrives

I was wondering if anyone has ever had any experience with Bowtie Overdrives (the tranny company), more specifically for the 4L80-E. I was thinking of going FLT, but i have heard they are at about a 6 week waiting period. Due to my truck being my daily driver and what not, i do not have the luxury of waiting on a tranny. I will be doing a motor swap at the same time, so i would like things to be quick and easy.

Any input/info would be great.

a friend of mine bought one of their trans for his '66 Imp but it's not on the road yet. He speaks very highly of them but I don't know any truck running one.

when i used to go to all of the car shows, i would see their booths and they were at quite a few of them on a regular basis. i know they have been around for a decent amount of time, but their specialty has always been the 4L60-E (700R4). if i am gonna spend that kind of money, i want to be sure the tranny will hold up

If you want to be sure then it might be worth the 6 weeks wait for that FLT. They are the ones who have proven themselves in our trucks.

True, they prove themselves constantly. I will give them a chance when I need a built 4L60/65E before anybody. If that ever fails, I replace w/ 80e.

If FLT has a 80e core, have them build it for ya. That way, no downtime. Only prob will be 1) if they have no 80e cores 2) If u already fragged yours. Then, u obviously need ASAP.
Good luck w/ whatever route u go.

i sent vince a PM a while back and he said that the best bet would be to rebuild my tranny. Its is still in and working, but i can feel 3-4 slip a little bit if i let it shift automatically. i dunno. i am perplexed. I am sure FLT is a GREAT tranny shop. But there HAS to be another one a little more local. Too bad for me if there isnt, i guess.
