About couple years ago, I had an eaton limited slip differential installed with motive 4.10 gears. I also used ARP bolts for the main caps on the differential along with the T/A Performance rear end girdle. Everything worked good for a long time. Fast forward to now, I have a different motor with a blower setup (making ALOT more power than before). Last night tuning on it, I decided to do a full out launch.. it hooked hard, and moved out quick. Tried it again, and KABLOOM!!

Im debating whether to get another set of gears and risk it happening again, or just go with a ford 9".

Im working on a 9.5SF 14bolt as is Turbobeserker, mine will take a while as I have 50 other things going on at the same time. From what I have found you can actually make a 10 bolt very strong

Main killer of the 10 bolt is the weak housing, trussing them like the 9"s or other aftermarket kits keeps the gears from shearing like yours did. The t/a cover goes a long way to helping but just not enough for a setup like yours or mine. You can buy aftermarket alloy axles, billet caps, also cryo treating and microniting helps ALOT with strength. Strange seems to make really good gears, yukon and motive have had some problems with some weak metals in some of their castings(local speed shop told me). Im oging to a 14 bolt because I plan transbrake launches at full boost off the 2-step and maybe nitrous along with wanting to tow and be able to stomp it and not have to worry about the rear.

you mean welding trusses from the housing to the axle tubes...
i thought axle flex was what caused the gears to break like his did...

nice looking set up , i have almost the same thing as far as power plant, i know you can get a 14 bolt from a vho or what not and do a disc conversion from baer. if you want to sell that girdle , im your huckleberry!!

are you still running the s trim vortech ? if so what kind of boost? i know that the max flow bov is only good to baout 13 psi , i just put mine on the same vortech set up.
i also upograde to the t trim race blower.
