Default Blown Rear Diff G80

Well i know this has been beat to death before,i did a search and came up with 250 post's. To make a long story short, ive been taking care of my mother since her stroke 6weeks ago, with therapy and such. And was just plain stressed out, and i got on the gas around a corner and felt like i hit neutral.Pulled in to a jiffy lube and the manager was cool we pulled the cover and it looked like parish's diff.cleaned all the metal and flushed it out with gear oil put cover up and drove home in 4wd.I have no money to upgrade or anything.so was just curious if anyone has one they like to sell or where to evan look for one.PS if i drive it temporarily in 4hi and i hurting it more i have to take my mom to her to appt, in am tommorow!!!-Sorry for long post just pissed at myself!!!

When Parrish blew his I think he drove it the rest of the way home in 4hi. Not sure how far that was but, he was towing a trailer. I think if you drive normally to and from the Dr. you would be fine. I wouldn't press my luck to many time though. Post a WTB G80 add in the classifides. I'm sure somebody hs one laying around.

I have the stock peg leg unit I took out when I installed my Eaton. You can have it for free, if that's what you want. If you want it, pm me with your adress, and I'll get it out to ya.

Default Qustions About G80

Okay in my previous post.i grenaded my rear diff yesterday. My question is i have no idea, what i broke i broke pinion gear in 3 places, and the g80 is the pop can size unit on the passenger side of the diff i think?Well it has a hole in the size of a baseball.Okay so if i replace the g80 and the 373 gears will that be it or is there anything else that needs to be replaced?Or can i just replace it with the pegleg unit that one of this site many great member's has offered?Im selling the truck and moveing in with my mom to take care of her but i dont want to screw the person thats want to buy it.

peg leg(open diff) is fine, you'll need new gears, bearings an such though.
