Question Big Rear End Trouble.. Need Help!!

well a few weeks ago i blew my g80. so my buddy gave me one out of a 97 z71. he told me they were the same. so while i was away my buddy installed it. everything was fine, he said the backlash was at .7 anyways so the past week ive been hearing a clunking noise from the rear end. so today when i was changing my plugs and wires and doing a few other things , i figure i would check it out. and im glad i did. i pulled my cover off and i imediatley saw a problem.. the bearings are the wrong size. but after i took the chunk out and sat it next to my 99 nbs g80 that was blown i relized that the id of the carrier is the same but the bearings and races are different sizes. but everything else works, so is there a bearing i can use that swaps over and makes up the difference of the smaller 97 g80,or will i have to get a nbs carrier ? im really in a pinch hear guys please help!denny.
