Question Best sized drag tire for 4.10's?

Hey guys, i am looking to get some tires for the track and i was wondering what size to run on my 16's? I have 4.10's with a intake, exhaust, and a tune.

Previously, I ran a 15.50 at 89 mph with the 3.73's and worn down 255/70/16's with same mods above.

Just want to take the full potential of my gears without going to big or to small.

LOL and if im wasting my time please let me know.

this really depends on your mods and hp level... and where you are crossing the traps RPM wise.

You need to take all that into consideration.

You shouldn't really need slicks until you get a stall converter. just better street tires.

26" m/t et streets should be good for 13.2 and up

any faster you need 28X11.5-16 et streets, or 28X10-16 hoosier full slicks.

wow that seems really small for my basic setup. I dont know much about ratios and tire sizes but i think that will run outa gear if i go that small. I mean, i ran a 15.50 at 89 mph on 3.73's on 30.1" tires and now that i have 4.10's, dropping down to a 26" tire seems dangrously low lol. ill be bouncing off the rev limiter in 4th gear lol. Plus i have a G80, i am looking for more of a street tire that wont hook so hard that it blows up. I dont mean to disrepspect your knowledge, i just dont think ill run quicker or trap more than 85mph with that short a tire...

What kind of results could i expect from going that small?

thanks again

I'd listen to the guys recommending the 26" tire, you dont have enough power to justify 28's and your trap speed of 89mph will put you at approx 4700rpm in 3rd gear with an unlocked converter. You'll be fine to run a 26" tire at the track!

Me personally would run the 28 hoosier and be done with especially if you are gona keep doing mods to the truck why buy tires twice. It may be a lil bit of a waste now but he will allways dead hook allways
