I've been calling around and get anywhere from $350.00-$380.00 for the unit and about $100.00-$125.00 for the bearing and shim kit.
Anyone know where to get it cheap?

Sounds about right man you arent going to get any cheaper unless its used.

Looks like everyone is about the same price I guess.
Ya , I think I'm going to do the install myself, the guy who did my trans wants $790.00 to buy the unit and do the install.

That price for the kit seems high. Are you going to do the pinion bearings also? If not just buy a basic install kit(no bearings) and carrier bearings seperately. It might be cheaper. Cal lNational Drivetrain 800-507-4327 and get a quote.

I'll be doing the bearings as well. They are less than $12.00 each from what used to be Tom's differentials.

National was $400.00 for the unit and about $55.00 for the shim and bearing kit.

Call them back and let them know that you were quoted 350 on the eaton, they should match it and also ship for free.

I'm trying to get a friend of mine who has a buddy who owns a garage to buy it for me if he can get it cheaper. He already said we could use his shop to do the install.
I know.... a friend of a friend of a buddy's sister brothers father-in-law!!
But I have to save money anyway I can these days.
