Default Bad Symptoms

Ok, well my Silvy is putting down some power and i think the trans is roasted 9200mi yess 9200mi the stealership will not touch it with all the mods.

Question is: I was at a light punched the skinny pedal down and I think i roasted the trans. At regualr throttle 1st gear now holds to about 4500+rpm before it shifts the rest of the shifting seems to be fine...Any Ideas

Thanks for the help

Before going and throwing a trans at your truck I would look at a couple things first. I would suggest putting some kind of scan tool on your truck that allows you to view transmission data. Look for a couple things here. First would be if you are getting any transmission codes. Second would be if the computer is commanding the shift when this happens. If the command is there way before it shifts then I would suspect a band failure. Look at the shift solenoid data. You will be looking at the "A" solenoid to turn off or the scan tool might call this solenoid the "1-2" solenoid. If the command is not there then I would be looking other things like a mass air flow sensor. Keep in mind the trans is only going to do what the computer tells it to do. If the command is there then I would suspect either a cracked plastic 1-2 accumulator piston or a 2-4 band that is failing. Hope this helps and let us know what you find. Vince
