Default Bad converter?

Just testing that everything is working after wiring in a bunch of switches and relays for my t-brake, line lock and 2 step. Testing the t-brake my RPM did not hold at the spec'd converter stall speed of 2600. I let off the throttle when I saw that the the RPM was already at 3700. In the attached pic you can see the RPM climbing during the T-brake test. I edited the log so that the 2 step test immediately follows. You can see that the RPM held steady at 2500 as set. The t-brake was not active during that test.

I have just installed this converter. Hasn't been used since I sent it to PI for a cut n clean. Seems that my other converter held the RPM at 2600 when I did the same test.

I'm not sure how you got it to hold at 2600, I have what PI claims is the tightest stall they can build for an 80 and I can push mine to 2800-2900 with hydroboost and 14psi.

The one that held was a TCS unit. This PI was already 1100 RPM over its spec'd stall speed and still climbing when I let out.

Now I am wondering if this is related to the other new issue I have. If I stomp on the throttle while rolling it opens, closes, then re-opens. All within a couple tenths of a second. Great whiplash effect. Almost like hitting the rev limiter, but RPMs are only in the 4000s when this occurs, according to my logs.

Probably just blowing thru the stall. Mine pushed to 4600 rpm @ 9 psi on the footbrake 50% tps. It's supposedly a 3200 converter.

Who built that POS? Was it built for your set up in mind?

I'd put my foot to the floor on the brake and see what the actual stall speed is then give PI a call

That might be a good idea.

I really like my converter. I just told them to build it as tight as possible.
