Default Here's the deal

The whole problem is that GM thinks that they will get off of this hook bec not that many people care. My own service writer asked me if squeeling breaks were really that big of a deal. There is a 1800 number in the back of our owner manuals, after placing my 11th call and complaining the women finally asked me to stop calling. I told her that i was gonna file a lemon law complaint and she offered up that in two weeks they would get back to me on a possibl solution. (there solution is offer a warranty on my brakes for the life of the vehicle against squeeling) that means every two weeks they have to pull the wheels off and clean the break dust out....solution for 500 miles aprox.

No way for the dust to escape while driving? How do they work other than the noise?

Sounds alot like those magical pistons that were intended to stop all the piston slapping issues...

That's ironic because that set-up was supposed to fix the problems of the all-disc '04 and earlier ones.

The parking brake is actually a drum in the middle of the rear discs. They were notorious for failing and causing an expensive headache depending on how much you complained to the dealer. The drums were meant to alleviate the problems. They might have opened up a new can of worms, although I don't think its everybody. Just a few.
