Default AWD Blues

Can't get the Denali out. Won't go down the street. Old beat up van just flew by. Denali has handled icy and snowy roads before with no problem as long as the plows came. AWD is **** for when the plows are too busy to come.

I am honestly a little disappointed but I don't think I want to invest in a 4wd truck right at the moment.

It needs a AWD system like a audi/volvo or a subaru to be any good in the snow.

Otherwise regular 4x4 is the way to go.

True but the only thing that sucks is the 1500 IFS is still open diff. right?

I found this weird. Earlier when I got stuck both front wheels and the rear left were stationary and the back right was spinning like a beast. I thought I had a locker rear. Makes no sense to me... I heard some crumbling sounds but I think it was the traction control. Not the diff giving up.

The factory g80 Eaton limited slip is garbage. It's a clutch style that is governed. They unlock at a certain speed. 15 i think. Very small pieces to grenade and a weak carrier. Put a Yukon duragrip in it. Very reasonable and works well. It's a knock off of the Eaton unit. A place in Iowa sells then for 355, free ship. I am guessing you have poor tires or a t case issue to if it's that bad in the snow?

I will have to look up the tires. They are 60K mile all seasons I drive on icy or snowy roads all the time. It snowed 36" in the last couple of days. First time to try to drive on standing snow on the roads and total fail. Vehicle won't do it. Plows are too busy to get to us.
