What do you guys think about driving a 05 Z71 Tahoe in auto 4 wheel drive 100% of the time?
The reason I ask is, I borrowed my father in laws tahoe the other day. He explained he keeps it in auto FWD because he gets a services display while in 2 WH. I didn't mind the display, so I put it in 2 WH. About 15 miles down the road, the transmission disengages, w/ a light grind. I pulled over, checked to assure myself it hadn't slipped out of gear, which it had not. I put it in auto FWD and took it back to him. He said he drove it the next day and it was fine. I'm sure he drove it in auto FWD, and not for 15 miles. I tried to tell him his truck needs serviceing, but he's a hard head. Hope someone has an explination.
