Default auburn posi? Truck pulls?

I'm thinking of buying an auburn posi unit for my 1999 4.8 silverado. Right now I have an open carrier and I want to compete in the1/2 ton 4x4 truck pulls. And I know that the open carrier will not work well. What do you all think about the auburn posi? I would like to know for sure if I have a 30 spline axle without taking it apart, is there a stamping on the rear end?

Yes, you have the 30 spline rear end. I had an auburn in one of my Z's. I liked it. Why not just use an ez locker till the rear end goes boom, then upgrade to a Detroit or something stronger??
