Default Auburn Posi. Question

My 99 Silv. has a Auburn Posi. and lately the driver tire has been dropping off in the burnout box and on the street. So i called Zimmer Gear in Baton Rouge,La. and this guy said "you're lucky it lasted 3 years, I've got a guy that rebuilds his diff. 3 times a year." WTF. I bought this thing with the intention of not buying another for a long time.
I'm just looking for some input from some more Auburn owners. I think this guy is full of it or stupid.

Replace it with something better. I also had an Auburn and was not exaclty satisfied with it.

You're guess is as good as mine. My question to him was " why didn't you tell me this when I bought it from you"?

Ive had an auburn for a year and its a piece of ****, sometimes it might lock if you hold your mouth the right way. If you arent exactly pointing straight there is no chance it will lock.

This thing is the biggest waste of my time and 390 bucks I should have put out the rest for the detroit lsd with no clutches, instead of being cheap. Lesson learned
