Default Assassian bars an towing

Cant really find much info on people towing with these traction bars or not. I dont tow much weight, but a buddy of mine does.


Would it be best to remove the whole bar or just back off of the threads some?

I wouldn't think there would be anything wrong with it as long as it isn't binding, if anything it would be good to have it as it will continue to do its job and prevent axle wrap when you start to pull.

I would assume it would help towing and keeping the axle in place a little better than without.

IMO I would think you would want to back them off a little bit. Remember there set up with no weight in the truck. The weight from towing could cause them to bind and damage them.

Slowly lower the trailer on and see what they do. Maybe shoot an email to the company and ask there opinion on them as well. They designed them so I think they would be the most qualified to answer that type of question.

Thats what i was thinking, just take them all the way off worst case. I have an electric impact so removal would be easy for me at any time

Why couldn't you just pull the bar out of the rod ends and leave everything else bolted up?

I know a guy who tows some heavy stuff with cal-tracs and he just pulls the front bolt out of the bar in the front bracket and zip ties it up out of the way, still bolted to the rear. He does this a lot, and just puts the one bolt back in each side at the track or whatever. Never had an issue doing it this way.

Thats what i mean to do. Worst case just pull the whole bar out, 2 bolts done.
