Default Anyone use 2wd rear shocks on lowered Z71?

I plan to remove rear block and run shackles to lower 1" more, for a total of a 3" rear drop. My shocks are completely blown out 140k Z71 shocks, and I plan to replace them with Bilstein 4600 series shocks. If I use 2wd shocks, will I need shock extenders? Is there any difference between 2wd and 4wd Bilstein HD shocks besides the length? Technically I'm only 1" lower than a stock 2wd truck.

I didn't put shackles in yet, but I did take the blocks and helper leafs out of my Z71, and I put Belltech street performance shocks in it...fits great and rides great.

I lowered my Z71 with 2" shackles and removed blocks, plus 2" keys up front. I used the factory bilsteins for a 2003 Silverado SS AWD. They're awesome! My only problem is Im only about 2 inches from the rear bumpstops, and I need new ones for the front.
