Do you mean you stripped the head of a torque converter bolt? That may prove tough to remove if so.

 

yep, a torque converter bolt.

 

Don't they have duel ways of removing them? The normal way and a hex on the inside of it? I know mine did.....cause we stripped it a decent bit. But the hex in the center of the bolt works just as well.
Unless of course you don't have that option.

 

I don't think the stock converter bolts I've used have the hex inside them. Any chance you can get a pair of vice grips around the head?

I guess worst case you can pull the transmission, then remove the other two torque converter bolts and rotate the converter on the stripped bolt. That would give you access to the flywheel mounting bolts so you could pull it and the converter off to work with.

 

Can you get a chisel up there and knock the head off or loose?

 

Hey Clint, hows it going? Those are some pretty hard bolts in a pretty tight area. I'd probably do more damage to other stuff than to the head of the bolt. But then again, I usually get carried away with the BFH.

 

Going pretty good Richard. Damn, just looked at your sig and see you have a 70s truck. Im wanting to do a 67/68 myself.
The guy that put the converter in my 99 had to take a chisel to them bc they stripped. Or at least one or two of them did. At least I think thats what he used. Its been a few years so its hard to remember, lol.
