Default Anybody Got An Ecsb W/ A 1-piece Driveshaft???

I have been curious to see if anybody has trashed the 2-piece and gone with a 1-piece???? And if so what it took to do it. Any input is appreciated!

4wd do but 2wd dont just pointing it out lol .

i myself would love to ditch this . the carrier bearing , 2 steels shafts , extra u joints . a brace . all weight that can be dropped . i heard the vans have aluminum ones and work on the standard cabs . i was wondering they have longer extended vans then the normals . maybe those have the length us guys would need ???

if not whats it run to get a custom one done . and is there really a noticable difference . i would think it would equate to less drivetrain less and weight off the truck itself ??

You'll have more vibrations and such making it to your trans (not a good thing)
Actually, youre converter slips 20rpm, even at full lock up, to absorb these vibrations.

rigid mounting, high force and high velocity isn't very desirable. I never did understand why GM only gave "half" the vehicles 2 peice driveshafts.

V6 camaro = 2 peice
V8 = 1
4x2 =2
4x4 =1

I was wondering if a driveshaft out of an ECLB 4x4 truck could be used considering the length and size??????? Any suggestions??

Went from one piece to two piece. Going the other way I imgaine would be hard right? You don't have a transfer case. The 4wd DS is already 72", you'd need a freaking 8' driveshaft on 2wd.

I blew my one piece. And fought vibration for a long time, angle, shims, balancing, aluminum, steel, blah blah blah...I know my fabbed two piece will handle more power and much higher rpm's. Heavier? Sure, but I'll get over it, I'm not looking to break into the 11's either.
