Here is the converter limit valve. The red arrow is pointing at the area that needs to be ground off so the new red PI supplied spring can fully seat on the valve... at least I hope so as I already did it
The valve ground and the spring fully seated...
Some drilling on the pump...
This drill mod is supposed to prevent seal blow out...

It doesn't look to me that you could force the spring over the ridge... and I'm not sure it could be jammed over if coil bind occurred. And I don't know if converter limit valve movement would cause any binding. So, I don't know what the ill effects would be, if any, by not grinding the valve. Maybe Vince would know...

Hmmm? I know I didn't grind anything off of that valve, and I would think I would notice that spring not seating all the way. I remember looking it over pretty good but don't remember anything unusual. It sure wouldn't be the first time I f'd up. I just don't wanna have to pull the trans to fix it.
Keep up the good work Bill.
And Howard I like those ghetto lip seal installers and ring sizers.

I should finish it this week Install will probably be after the holidays. I do have a custom built cross-member but the more I look at it the more I may start from scratch and build my own (from a stock piece). I want a cross-member that will clear a deep 4L80E pan... and so far a modified stock cross-member is the way to go from what I've seen.
