Another thing, I highly doubt you’ll have to shorten the driveshaft! The 80e is actually very close to 60e length. There’s three diffrent slip yokes for the 80e, sobyoure good with your stock length driveshaft! Only thing you’re gonna need to do is install a bastard u joint, 1350 on the 80e yoke side and whatever the 60e driveshaft side is. Pretty common u joint at any driveshaft place.

For the crossmember, dirtackracer here sells them - great quality...used one with my swap. As stated, same dipstick - different tube & get the right yoke and you won't need to modify the DS. You won't regret the swap once done. HUGE piece of mind...

for now im just going to mod my crossmember trying to keep cost down this was not planed, 2 weeks before this the timing chain on my zo6 let go at 6800rpm so between the timing chain and now the trans "fun $$" is thin

hunting down the flexplate spacer, sensor plug & dip stick tube found a local guy that parts out 2500's while i was there picked the dual exhaust pipes and passenger side manifold from a 6.0 (for $60) so will be converting to true dual catless exhaust in the processes, when i came home my son and i removed that trans getting the exhaust off was a PITA took about 2.5 hours to get the 6 nuts off

what is the right slip yoke?

Since I already had 1350s on my Dennys D'S I bought my slip yoke from their store. They have every conceivable size and configuration you might need. Does the shaft have a hole in the center of it?

Yes, but you may want to add some gussets to the sides of the angle piece.

Little confused so I need to cut it and move it back or can I just add angle iron to it?

You can do either, but if you do angle iron, I would add some guessts on the side so it isnt just hanging out there unsupported.

Sorry...not the DS - the input shaft of the 80e - if there is a threaded hole down the center then the slip yoke is different than if not.
