aftermarket transmission cooler location? under the truck bed?
#1
Been thinking of installing an aftermarket transmission cooler.. I don't really have room in the front though with the intercooler.
Would it be stupid/pointless mount a transmission cooler at about a 45 degree angle underneath the bed of the truck? I'm not sure of the amount of air that gets to this area when the vehicle is moving
but as I see it- with a cooler mounted at the front near the radiator and everything, and the fact that if the vehicle isn't moving there is no air flowing through it, it seems that it would pretty much be the same as if it were mounted in the back. It would also eliminate the long plumbing needed when having a cooler at the front of the vehicle
just wondering what everyone thinks of this idea, I ran a search on this site and google- it seems like it is popular among the dodge diesel guys. Nothing came up on this site though or for a chevy
