Default AFter 4 months the 4L80e swap starts tomorrow!!!!

Well The wife is going out of town this weekend SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO after 4 months of gathering and researching parts, the damn 4L80e swap starts tomorrow!!! I am excited to be finally driving with a non-stock torque converter again!!!!

Let me know if i am missing anything.

"Assembled" 4L80 with "Purchased Parts"
CircleD 3600 3C Converter w/ new bolts
CircleD Flex Plate
ARP Flex Plate Bolts
new 4.0 AL 1350 drive shaft with new yoke and a bastard Ujoint in the rear, all high speed balanced.
Misc AN fittings to extend my cooler lines (allready have -6AN braided lines and 40k tru-cool)
Modified crossmember
1 12v relay to flip the polarity of the Shift Solenoid B.
Update the Tune to run the 80e on a 60 tune (update for the new 4L80 gears, disable some codes and adjust the TCC tables and shift tables...)
several jugs of tranny fluid

I have tried to not skip on any part of this build because i want to do this once and ever freaking touch it again... Everything is new, so hopefully i "Assembled" everything correctly and it works... Time will tell.

I still gotta pic up a couple packs of smokes and a 12 pack of Dr. Pepper

After that is all complete, i can start back on some go fast goodies

You have efilive. Why not segment swap to a 80 tune, add a two wire sensor to the pcm, swap 1 wire on the main plug and have it factory correct???

He wants to keep the TCC locked up all the time since its kinda a loose converter id imagine.

Id love to try the 60e tune deal and see if it changes my gas mileage any.

Good luck corey

Running the 60 tune will keep the TC from unlocking everytime you let off the throttle. That is sooooo freaking annoying. Yep i could do the segment swap but this approach seems better from the people i have seen use it.

I would think that you could make the 80e tune remain locked when you let off the gas like the 60e tune. I will have to open a file when I get a min and see if it can be done. I run the 80e segment swap in mine.

Don't forget to install the dipstick tube before you raise the tranny up in the truck.

There's no way to prevent the TCC from unlocking on the 80 tune. It was kinda annoying with my 3600. The only problem I see with the "60e method" is the fact that you are relying on a relay for reliability. The 80e makes some god awful noises if you try and run it on a straight 4l60 tune.
