Default advice for a trans...

ok here is the deal... i am going after 37 inch tires and either 455's or 488's and i would like to have about 500 horse through a 5.3 with heads and cam with some turbo boost 05 avalanche z71

the cam i am thinking of is the texas speed 220 or the 224 so that means im going to have to run at least a 2800 stall...

now i am going to tell you my driving habits... i do alot of city driving, it will see minimal offroad use. when it does see some offroad it will see a little mud (no bogs or anything) and just trails no rock climbers or crap like that... its an avalanche not a jeep... when im on the street i drive nice and easy... gas aint cheap and neither are tickets! i just want to dust an unsuspecting mustang or just hang with the fast cars enough to make em give me the WTF! look... and that will be like once a month... literally... my wife makes fun of me cause i drive like grandpa 95% of the time... but sometimes i like to boot it for fun... however the truck is mostly for some show. I just dont want any problems down the road.

i am looking for the most cost effective also... so if i can build my 60e to handle it without problems than cool the 4l80E seems to be a PITA to swap...

Dont even think about a 60e in that kind of vehicle setup.

80e for sure.

And before the 60e scoffers come in check this out

‪06 Turbo Silverado‬‏ - YouTube

This Truck TJ tuned is what you want, a 5.3 , but its on 35's and makes 681 to the tires!!! Oh Yeah its got an 80E !!!!

How much us the 80e swap? I know I will need custom front and rear drive shafts... It just seems like a ton of work... Or am I wrong?

Would it be more work to keep swappin 60's in and out when they break or do an 80 swap?

Can I just get the drive shafts from a 2500 avalanche or suburban?
