Default Advantages and disadvantages of 410 gears

can anyone tell me the pros and cons of 410s vs 373s?

the advantages in my opinion is your truck will not lug around as much. And you get better WOT performance down low. The disadvantage is increase fuel consumption on the highway and often you wont be able to do a 4-2 kickdown from 70 mph whereas a 3.42 or 3.73 truck will and will pull you because of that most likely, power being equal. Of course all of this is dependent on tire height.

i already get terrible gas milage. and i hear that it limits your speed once you get so fast?

It only turns a few hundred more rpms then a 373, is def a difference... I don't understand why people build there stuff then worry about the gas mileage(LOL) Go for it and be happy..

yep I miss my 3.42s on the highway, but they wouldn't work well with my converter

lol. im getting 11 mpg. and its my daily driver. gets costly quick.

your tuner must not be very good then. I'd think your truck would do better than that especially with a stock stall

I get less then 10mpg and its my DD to and I drive it normal 90% of the time.. JUST DO IT

lol it hasent been tuned since i did a few changes. my tuner is fantastic. thats when im on it hard though. regular driving i get like 15 or so prolly

I'll agree with scott on the tuner comment. I've seen trucks similar to yours get better driven hard. I get 20 highway / 15 city driving pretty hard with my 5.3
