Default 9in leaf spring mount question.

I have a 9in rear end that is about 1" shorter per side then my factory rear in my 02 seirra . My question is i am gonna do a flip kit on the truck. I know the flip kit locates off of the stock leAf spring mount. Would it hurt to just get everything lined up and weld the flip kit bracket to the axle housing and not have the stock bracket. I will do ahead and set the pinion angle before everything is welded up . Any help is appreciated.

I would get some heavy duty leaf spring perches like the ones Calvert racing sells and weld them to the underside of the axles and sell the flip kit components.
