Hey guys hopefully someone can help me out. my dad has a 95 tbi 350 silverado. Stock 3.42 gears but put a eaton posi in it and now at 110k miles the 5 speed still works great and shifts great but i can hear noise in there.
im wondering how hard is it to put a t56 tranny in these trucks???
Do you need a new master cluth cylinder???
Driveshaft will need to get shortened im guessing.

I did this with a 4.3 S10, I put an f-body slave cylinder, made a new crossmember and mount (which was the hard part), cut a new hole in the floor, and had the driveshaft shortened. Really wasn't that bad, but the rear gears will feel way to shallow with the T56, I ended up with 4.10s with a 26" tire.

he has 31 inch tall tires so rear end gears would have to be a 4.56 to be able to use 6th gear??
He wants better gas mileage on the freeway at 70 mph hes turning 2000 rpms right now im hoping with the t56 he could get that down to like 1200

Those TBI motors have really good low end so 1200 MAY be doable. 1500ish or so would be more realistic. You can always try it out and change gear later. That is what I did to figure out what I needed but the L92's large runners and my cam don't do well on the below 2000 area. Not just that but with 4.30's and 32" tires, pulling a 20" boat out of the water was almost impossible and starting off at a redlight was challenging.
