Default 9.5" to a 10.5"

Quick question? Have a 99 2500 with a 9.5" rear end. My question is how hard would it be to change a 10.5" out of a 2500 HD. Don't know if it is worth it but just asking?

I have the same truck as you and have also wondered about this. My buddy has a 2500HD with the 6.0L 10.5 rearend and it looks like everything is exactly the same. I think the only thing you would need would be a conversion u joint. The parking brake and brake lines should just hook right up. I really don't think there would be that much to this swap except a new u joint and some new HD u bolts. Also, I don't think you would have to shorten your driveshaft because the length of the 10.5 housing is I believe less than an inch longer than stock.

That's what I was thinking but just wondering if anyone has done it. U joint would be no problem, there is a wrecked 03-04 2500HD around where I live and if I could buy the whole truck.

I dont think you even need a conversion joint.

PM Silveradol33, he put a 14ff(the 10.5) in place of a 14sf(the 9.5) in his dads truck.

If you do pick up the 10.5" I have an Eaton limited slip that will fit 4.10 and down.
