Default 80e swap into a yukon denali??

I have read too many posts about 60e and 65e not a good combo for a heavy truck and alot of power so I get it I will not make the same mistakes as many and do it right the first time, PLUS im hell on my truck and I like to build it to drive it and race it, my question is, what kind of power will I loose from a 4L80e swap, and will my AWD transfer case bolt to a 80e or so I need a different awd case? Also is swapping this into my truck the same as the stick posted at the top on how to perform the swap or is mine different? Thank you

Your transfer-case being the BorgWarner unit may present a problem making the swap, unless you were to use the cut down and re-splined output shaft to mate the two together. There is a new input gear available for the NVG149 AWD case that was used in the trucks and ‘01/’02 Yukon Denali and ’02 Escalade so you can use the stock type 80E output shaft. I don’t know whether a input gear from another BorgWarner unit will fit or not, as it’s pretty much virgin territory as I’ve never heard of anyone doing what you’re wanting to do. Maybe someone knows something different as to what may or may not work in your situation. Of course in a higher powered vehicle you may be better off with the NVG149 anyway.

It's a guy on here bermoguire?? Or something similar. I think his Denali is supercharged with a 80e and awd!

It can be done, and btw your making the right choice.

I have a 2wd Tahoe so the 80e was easy, plus I'm running it on a 60e tune. The power difference Is not bad really, plus with my 3700 stall billet converter it runs out strong behind my 6.0ho I do have a set of 4.56 gears I had purchase to do the install with, but IMO 3.73 has no problem. But I already got gears to switch em. So that's next
