I would rather be home chillin in the pool. It's 85 and humid as hell, the shop fan can only blow so hard

I second that, I still love the way the 80e shifts. It's so crisp and precise, at least that's how I describe it. Granted I never had a stock one.

The worst part of putting a fresh trans in is filling it with fluid. The 4L80e takes like 16 qts or some crap.

finished up the swap tonight!

put 12 quarts of fluid in and it moves the truck good, it doesn't feel low or the converter too loose..

I forgot about switching the wires at the pcm, so that took a while to do.

put about 20 miles on it tonight. my tune got all kinds of screwed up when HP did the segment swap. Boost enrichment wasn't even active. so i made a quick pull at 10psi 13.00 afr

I couldn't get the converter to lock up on its own. When i commanded it with the scanner it worked fine. any thoughts

It won't lock at all on its own or it unlocks when you let off the throttle?

it never locked up own its own.

trans temp was around 170*

i only got it up to about 55mph, but it should be locking in around 45.

Im gonna get the fluid level correct and i will report back

well I got the fluid level up and took it on a 60 mile trip. I locked up the converter with the scanner about 10-15 different times. took the truck out the next day and the TC started working like normal
